Hummingbirds

Environmental & Science Education, STEM, Biodiversity, Behavior, Nature, Biological Evolution

ZeFrank is an American online performance artist, composer, humorist and public speaker according to the Wiki entry which also notes that he has a degree in neuroscience from Brown University. Nerdcore comedy is what he is about which I take to mean: geek humor.

ZeFrank does some great videos about nature's creatures called True Facts. They are exactly that: true. His narration often drives me batty--especially the odd pronunciations, as well as his kind of  humor which has been typed, accurately for me, as "Beavis and Butt-Head" humor. The videos though never fail in richness, fascination and in showing the results of the power of natural selection. And there is more real science in these videos than I find in many other films about nature.

A few days ago, maybe longer, Jerry Coyne whose website WEIT, is one of the crown jewels on the web, posted one I hadn't seen on hummingbirds (12m 30s). This entry did not elicit the usual number of comments (30 to 150+); only eight and I recommend you read them, perhaps after viewing this stunning video. Hummers are even more amazing than I thought.
