Fall Equinox Sunrises Around The World.

Environmental & Science Education, STEM, Earth & Space Science, Astronomy, Solar System

Ed Hessler

In late September we experienced the annual Fall Equinox on September 23, at 01:04 UTC or September 22 at 9:04 pm  EDT. In our northern part of the planet it is a harbinger of longer periods of darkness and cold weather.

I very much liked and appreciated this Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) post showing a collage of fall equinox sunrises around the world--one in each of 24 nautical time zones. All the appropriate terms are linked and explained.
