Fat Bear Week

Ed Hessler

It is Fat Bear Week, the annual tournament celebrating the success of the brown bears at Brooks River in Katmai National Park and Preserve, Alaska.

Single elimination is the method so for each set of two bears, vote for the one you think is the tubbiest and so on. Only one will be crowned the champ heading into its winter den.

Voting is a two-step process. First, click on the vote button below the photos. Then enter in an email address in the line below the vote button. These addresses are used to tally votes and will not be used for any other purpose.

Here is Brooks River in all its glory with several live cams and several highlights plus naturalist and viewer comments. You can even check the weather conditions.

I'm late in announcing this but take a look and vote remaining rounds.
