Team Lioness is an all-female ranger unit protecting Kenyan widlife from poachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. They are part of a larger group of rangers who are all men. (76 total of which 8 are women). They are also the first women in the history of their families to secure employment.

Women were not considered strong enough for this demanding work. But as one says: "I'm...here."

A BBC film (4m 3s) shows them at work and their reunion with families. They had been asked, as all rangers had, to remain in the field at the outset of the pandemic. Rangers are not armed. Generally, poachers are.
